Restaurant
“A dream turned true” said top chef Shaun Dickens on joining us at Fallowfields.
Shaun’s track record is in Michelin-starred restaurants. 3 years at Oxfordshire’s Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons (2 Michelin stars), 2 years at Per Se in New York (3 Michelin stars) and, most recently, 2 years at L’Ortolan (1 Michelin star). Shaun also worked with Gordon Ramsay at the London in New York, Michel Roux Junior at Le Gavroche and Daniel Boulud at Restaurant Daniels.
Fallowfields, with its farm, orchards and kitchen garden, is a chef’s dream come true. When Shaun arrived he said ”there is a sense of passion at Fallowfields that matches my own -you could feel it ” The kitchen has always been passionate about using the freshest of produce ever since the days when Peta [the co-owner]cooked in the kitchen on an Aga.
The restaurant at Fallowfields Country House Hotel is renowned for serving excellent food prepared using only the finest fresh produce. Seasonal fruit, vegetables and herbs are grown in the hotel’s kitchen gardens and orchards and whenever possible meat and poultry is sourced from our own farm. The restaurant faces south to overlook the hotel’s croquet lawn and offers the perfect ambience at any time of day to enjoy a relaxing and unrushed breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Our friendly staff also offer a warm welcome to non-residents who wish to dine in our restaurant and will be delighted to offer you breakfast, two or three-course lunch menu, afternoon tea or à la carte dinner.
Fallowfields has a relaxed dining environment. We suggest a smart-casual dress code; smart jeans are fine although we would request no ripped jeans or sportswear. During the summer we are happy to prepare tasty picnic hampers to be enjoyed al fresco in our 12 acre gardens or to take with you on your exploration of the surrounding Oxfordshire countryside.
